Rohtang Pass........

Day 3  Calamity and Adversity

We woke up at 3.00 AM. Driver picked up us at 4:00 AM and we started our journey to Rohtang Pass from Naggar. On the way, we collected the warm and trekking cloth. It felt that we will be too early to reach there.
Here we go...We found that the way was jammed with travellers, explorers and "Huge Traffic" than any metro city. Vehicles were moving slowly. It looked like calamity on mountain.
I got off the car and strode to Gulaba, soaked myself in green natural beauty of eastern Pir Panjal range and drenched in small natural water sources.

It took around 4 hours to reach Gulaba, the check post for Rohtang.  Through snaky curves, we were reaching Rohtang and we can see glaciers through passing clouds. We can imagine "White" glaciers but here we were looking at "Grey" glaciers. Our excitement to reach there got decelerated . We reached around 9AM at Rohtang. We have polluted the one we love.
In search of peace and to run away from Metro life to Mountains, we have polluted and overcrowded the mountains like metro cities, specially on weekends.

Grey Glaciers

We spent our leisure time in overcrowded Rohtang pass, which shrinks to small glacier due to global warming. One can see it in real sense.

Rohtang Pass

We left around 11:00 AM to reach Manali on time to catch our return bus. On the way we have seen the origin of Vyas River, a small temple and Kund.

Vyas Temple- Origin of Vyas River

We had taken a halt to serve our voracious stomach with food. The place was awesome with cold breeze of mountain and flying Baudhhik Prayer's Flags.

Home in Solitude

Descending was terrible experience than ascending. Vehicles got stuck for 5hours in congested traffic of Himalaya.

We finally reached Manali at 5:00 PM to catch the return bus to Delhi at 5:30 PM. We were just on time. We enjoyed speciality of Manali at Bus stop, Cherry, Apple and Maggie :)

We are always mesmerized with Himalayan beauty.

But our journey is memorable when surroundings are nice and keeping surroundings in order is a "Journey of Life". It will not only make us happy but generations too.

Rohtang Journey......

Day 2

Adventure.. Yoooo

While Day 1 was peaceful, Day 2 was full of adventure.
Paragliding, Night trekking, Live music.:-)

A ride from Naggar to Vashist. That was awesome when cold air touching your cheeks and hair..and you wanna lost in mountains.

A drive from Naggar to Vashist. But Ooopss !!!
Destination is not a destination now.
We missed our turn and where were we heading now.

Fun

Ohhh !!! This beautiful way is leading towards Solang Valley. Green snaky curves. Hold for some time.
We spent our leisure time with aggressively moving Vyas Nadi so called Beas River. Flowing Madmast.

A lookout :Vyas River

On the way, we had taken a halt at Nag temple where Rohtang tunnel puja was going on. We were blessed to do Puja and had awesome himanchali food "Prasad" - Mixed Dal Puri, Fried vegetables, Chhole, Raita and Rice.

We again started our journey towards Solang which used to be ice covered in June month but Global warming hits and we could not see even a ice strand.

We reached Solang. There are numbers of colorful wings moving in air. Now its time for us to move our wings in the air. We did paragliding by reaching at top of mountain via rope way. A feel of 5mins, a feel of bird is substantial.

Paragliding : Birds in Sky

Now Vashist, known for its natural source of hot spring created by Guru Vashist by his Tapsya. We bathed in holy water and worshiped there.
On the way, we found beautifully standing "Royal Enfield Gaga".
She deserves a photo session.

Royal Enfield Gaga

He headed towards Jogini waterfall. We trek towards source of Jogini waterfall. And it was awesome to be there. We could not resist to go into chilled water (Not to be mentioned after having bath in holy hot water :P), flowing from uphill. We spend quality time with nature and did night trekking too. (Yess... A Bit afraid of bear :D)

Jogini Waterfall

Now Back to Manali, struggling with huge traffic and reached coincidentally to "Johsson Cafe". Here coincidence meets serendipity where Good Food, Bonfire, chilled weather met with soothing Flute & Live Music.. :D

Johnsson Café: Live Music

In midnight, We were backed to our homestay under moonlight listening flowing, thundering river sound.

Where everything seems peaceful and happening both  at the same time and you left behind the worrisome and judgement of world.

Its just good to be with the moment.

:-)

Rohtang Journey....

Day 1 - Peace
Day 2 - Advent our
Day 3 - Calamity

Day 1

We reached Patalipura(20Kms from Manali) from Delhi on Thursday Morning at 11:00AM.
We booked a home stay cottage. A beautiful place in the lap of Himalaya and a wooden Himanchali home at Chhaki Naka, Naggar.

Backyard : Homestay

The place has unique things. One of this is natural source of Honey, honey comb methodology to source natural honey by growing bees into it.

Others are apple orchard, waterfalls, simple and happy people and not to be missed sound of river.

We spend some time in resting and taking soothing view from Bolcony of house. So famished we are !!!
We had yum ALU paratha cooked by Himanchali Lady..

Home Stay

Now its time to explore more....

We move out of our home towards Chhaki waterfall which is wrapped by nature and out of reach of genre. We reached there through hiking on local vehicle :D
Which was 1.5km from our home stay.

Hiking Gear

We met an incidence- one bird was hit and lying on the road. To save her, many birds of her genre surrounded her and was trying to protect and corner her off the road. Good to see non human efforts to save a life.
I helped her and touched any bird very first time. A good feel.

We reached Chhaki Waterfall and have seen how waterfall make its own pathway by crossing trees and rocks as per its wish on time to time (we are not only moody :P Nature is too. To make us learn a lesson- Destroy and Make).
We enjoyed the view and had awesome time at waterfall.

In night, to reach local food centre we had taken a walk under moonlight, sorrunded with peaceful Himalayan air and reached Wooden Pizza centre "Nightangle" .
I did a stunt and asked owner to allow me to make pizza. They were really gentle not only they told me how to cook pizza in "Wooden pizza oven" but also I cooked my own pizza. I must say it was awesome and God saved us.  :D

Walking back to our home in moonlight just makes me enlightened.

Wish life could stop here .. :)
